Purple Pear Farm

A small scale Biodynamic Permaculture farm – using sustainable and regenerative agriculture practices.

Founded in 2002

Run by Mark Brown and Kate Beveridge, Purple Pear Farm, Education Centre and Biodynamic farm offers learning opportunities based on 20+ years of experience in teaching, farming, sustainability, permaculture, biodynamics and community building.

Purple Pear Farm has been a flourishing, productive farm and education centre with mandala gardens, forest foods and established permaculture, along with biodynamic and organic farming practices.

We are in the process of re-evaluating our priorities and will look to future impulse and share with you our vision of where the farm will continue to contribute to our local and regional society.

Group Farm Tours

School groups, permaculture groups and TAFE outreach classes are some of the groups that visit regularly for a Farm Tour or for a specific study topic.

We welcome and encourage groups to visit, as the farm is intended to be a demonstration site where people of all ages and skills can learn.
If you have a class activity that aligns with sustainable food production or diversity and planet care then we can talk about what you want from the experience.

Private tours are available on request.

Acacia Play

Acacia Play provides a safe and nurturing space for children and their carers to come together to play, learn, and grow with a close connection to the outdoors and nature. The sessions held at Purple Pear Farm provide the children with the opportunity to interact with farm animals whilst being provided with a beautiful space for imaginative free play and time to explore and create.

We do food!

Our goal is to show how permaculture, biodynamics and organic principles work equally well on apartment balconies, in backyards and on farms such as this.

The farm is a working farm with facilities to cater for groups in a hands-on and supported learning environment.

Our passion is for supplying nutritious food grown using Organic/Biodymanic sustainable and regenerative land practices.

We have every hope that 2023 will see a return of some , if not all of our popular workshops. Your inquiries for sessions on a particular topic will work to determine what we continue to supply – so keep requesting and we will see what we can do.

Had a wonderfully educational morning on the Farm Tour. Kate was very generous with her time & knowledge, and I feel like I learned a lot in a short time. Watching their kelpie round up the geese, and then joining in with the tour group to move the temporary chook enclosure to a new garden bed, were delightful highlights.
