These morning farm tours are aimed at parents with small children. They are slow paced and feature a chance to feed, pat and cuddle various animals such as guinea pigs, ponies, cows, ducks, geese, pigs and chickens.
Duration – 10am to 12noon
We encourage people to bring snacks for the little ones and themselves, although we do provide tea and coffee. There is the opportunity to enjoy a picnic lunch after the tour (if you bring it).
These days are designed for children aged between 7 and 11 years of age who are looking to spend time on the farm interacting with animals, gardening and crafting.
10am – 12pm
These events will be run in school holidays with a similar description to the above Mums and Bubs but with a focus for the older children.
Clothing: Anything your child is happy to get dirty, closed in shoes, preferably boots, hat and raincoat. We typically start the day with a tour of the farm including interaction with the livestock and visit the mandala market garden.
The program may well include harvesting produce from the garden to prepare for lunch and a craft and/or gardening activity.
We offer school groups half day farm experiences, including a 2-hour farm tour, interaction with livestock visit to the mandala market garden.
We can tailor these visits to work in with curriculum studies.
Participants are able to eat their lunch in our picnic area with an opportunity for free play before returning to school.
The cost is $15 per student – supervising staff no charge and extra parents/guests $25
